CINCINNATI – CET will honor Dawn Bertsche for her volunteer work for the organization with the Charles W. Vaughan Award during the “Live on CET!” gala on May 7 at Music Hall.

 

Bertsche, a resident of Kenwood, is the CFO and Senior Vice President and Secretary at Multi-Color Corporation and is actively involved with CET and other Greater Cincinnati organizations.

CINCINNATI – CET is celebrating the success of the 42nd annual Action Auction, which brought in more than $208,000 this year.

 

''We are pleased that we were able to raise this money for CET,'' said Marty Humes, 2009 Action Auction chair. ''We realize the economy is tough, but our viewers still bid on items to support their local public television station. Our sponsors, bidders, donors and volunteers are outstanding and we could not have made this event happen without their dedication to CET and their mission.''

CINCINNATI – The studio is set for the 42nd annual CET Action Auction, which kicks off Wednesday, April 15 at 5 p.m. with the best bargains in town.

 

The annual auction, which is CET’s biggest fundraiser, is chaired by longtime CET volunteer and 2009 Enquirer Woman of the Year Marty Humes. Humes will open the auction, which boasts a wide range of items including: gift certificates, vacations, unique experiences, ticket offers, sports memorabilia, collectibles, antiques, furniture, wine and more.

CINCINNATI – The 2009 CET Action Auction is just around the corner. Coming April 15 - 18, this Cincinnati tradition will fill CET’s airwaves with the best deals in town.

 

The 42nd annual Action Auction airs live on CET beginning at 5 p.m. on April 15 – 17, and at 3 p.m. on April 18. Like years past, CET will hold Northern Kentucky Night on Thursday, April 16, and the ever-popular Wine Fest on Saturday, April 18.

CINCINNATI – CET, the first licensed public television station in the nation, will cease analog service on Friday, May 1 at 12:01 a.m.

 

CET has filed the appropriate paperwork with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to cease analog transmission prior to the June 12 deadline set by Congress. In order to shut down analog transmission early, stations had to inform the FCC by March 17.

CINCINNATI – CET will wrap up its March Membership campaign by presenting special programs on Saturday, March 21, in an effort to meet its goal of $306,939.

 

The event starts at 9 a.m. and includes blocks of programs that highlight the best of CET’s how-to, education and local history programs, as well as popular PBS programs such as Antiques Roadshow and The Lawrence Welk Show.

CINCINNATI – The Ohio Educational Television Stations (OETS) will receive a My Source Community Impact Award for Education from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) this weekend in Washington, DC. CET is one of the OETS stations.

Donations, Volunteers Needed To Make This Year Bigger And Better

 

CINCINNATI – Preparations are underway for the 42nd annual CET Action Auction, a Cincinnati tradition that boasts the best bargains in town. The 2009 Action Auction takes place April 15 – 18, and donations are being collected now.

CINCINNATI – CET is offering fantastic deals on thank-you gifts from past pledge programs during a “garage sale” at the CET studios. The sale will take place on Saturdays during the March membership drive.

 

The sale runs from noon to 5 p.m. on February 28, March 7 and March 14 in the lobby of the CET studios, located at 1223 Central Parkway, Downtown, and is open to the public.

CINCINNATI – Beginning January 5, 2009, a CET viewer favorite will be back on the CET air as Create returns to the Cincinnati airwaves.

 

Create, a 24-hour service providing the best of CET’s cooking, craft, travel and how-to programming, will be available on digital channel 48.2 and on Insight digital cable channel 219. Create was previously broadcast over-the-air from January 2006 to August 2007.
