Masterpiece Mystery! returns with "Silk"

Move over Endeavour, Sherlock and Foyle, Masterpiece Mystery! Silk is making its way to ThinkTV and CET this summer. This show is about a group of British lawyers, called Barristers, aggressively vying to be appointed as a Queen’s Counsel.

The story largely follows the extremely competitive Martha Costello (Maxine Peake – Criminal Justice, Little Dorrit) and Clive Reader (Rupert Penry-Jones – MI-5, Whitechapel) who will do just about anything to reach the top of their careers. Natalie Dormer and Tom Hughes also star.

The series, named Silk because the promotion to Queen’s Counsel is called “taking the silk,” was created by Peter Moffat and is based on his own experiences as a barrister.

Join CET and ThinkTV16 at 9pm Sunday, Aug. 25, for the first 2-hour episode of Silk. The remaining two two-hour episodes will air at 9pm Sunday, Sept. 1, and at 9pm Sunday, Sept. 8, on both ThinkTV16 and CET.
