Students go behind the scenes at the National Zoo for a look at the world of animals. Not your typical visit to the zoo, this four-part series shows students where and how animals live and why it’s important to protect them. Through the animal world, students learn more about our own ecosystem. These programs give information on bird habitats, food, songs, identification, and migration. Students will learn why animals form herds, the advantages and disadvantages of forming herds, and where herds live, learn about animals native to North America, some of which are endangered, and all about it from the tallest animal to the biggest primate, spider, lizard, and bird—and everyone’s favorite, the giant panda.
