20th Century Interactive (grades 9-12)

20th Century Interactive is a multimedia, high school curriculum in which students actively search for the history around them in the Greater Cincinnati and Dayton area. Themes included are key in the history of southwestern Ohio and serve as springboards to contemporary issues. Created through a partnership with Greater Dayton Public Television and funded by a grant by Ohio Educational Telecommunications (OET).

Search CET's Artists in Education Director to find arts organizations and individual artists in the Tri-state area who can provide an artistic program that accents teaching across the curriculum. These community resources include museums, theatre companies, musical ensembles, actors, dancers, and painters who can customize a workshop that fits the curriculum and budget. Part of the CET Arts Initiatives, funded in part by The Corbett Foundation.

Arts Revolution (grades K-5, and Pre-K)
New! Integrating the four art forms into your core curriculum not only enriches students’ lives but also enhances learning itself. This innovative arts integration tool developed by CET Learning Services uses content by students and for students to introduce the arts and engage minds, hearts and bodies in active learning — simply revolutionary! Behind the Glass (grades 4-6)

CET's multimedia learning experience for 4th-6th grade students helps teachers and students understand the visual arts as vivid tools for learning in all curricular areas. This project will help teach skills and knowledge needed for the Ohio Proficiency Tests in math, science, reading, writing and citizenship. Funded by a grant by Ohio Educational Telecommunications (OET).

CET Academy is an interdisciplinary, standards-based experience that helps educators integrate specific content across subject areas. As a part of their experience, teacher teams will develop specific activities to meet their schools' needs and will be provided grants to support those activities. The content area will rotate annually. In June 2006 teachers from all over the tri-state took part in the CET Arts Academy. In 2007: CET Science Academy.

Culture Collage (grades 3-5)

This project uses a variety of technologies to introduce teachers and students to the exciting world of arts integration. Through video, CD-ROM, and distance learning sessions with artists, the study of the immigrant cultures that developed the state of Ohio is brought to life. This project connects with numerous 3rd – 5th grade academic content standards in social studies, language arts, dance, music, theatre and visual arts. Made possible by a grant from the Ohio SchoolNet Commission, with additional funding from the Wohlgemuth Herschede Foundation.

eTechOhio Student Video Contest 2007

Student Video Contest (SVC) recognizes outstanding student achievement in the use of video production technologies while meeting Ohio state academic content standards and other instructional objectives. CET trains area teachers and students each year to prepare them to enter the contest.

Geo Zone (grades 5-8)

In The Geo Zone, students and teachers interact with a grant recipient from National Geographic Society's Committee for Research and Exploration in this live broadcast. Dater Foundation.

Girls' Health (grades 5-9)

This CET site provides meaningful curricular resources to assist teachers in the instruction of young girls' growth and development. It also provides young girls with direct access to growth and development information and resources and it provides parents with tools that create an opportunity for healthy dialogue with their daughters related to issues surrounding growth and development. Sponsored by Speaking of Women's Health and other organizations and foundations.

JASON Expedition (grades 5-8)

The JASON Expedition is an international cross-curricular science and technology curriculum. Each year is exposes students to science research and science careers through interactive lessons, computer simulations, live satellite broadcasts, web chats and novels.

Joel's Library Jam (grades K-2, preschool)

Jam with Joel and kids from Greater Cincinnati as CET takes you to the library! This program, aligned to Ohio Academic Content Standards for children in grades K-2, features books and activities that get grown-ups and kids involved together in the fun and importance of books and libraries. CET partners with The Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County as well as Success By 6 in this project funded by the Ohio SchoolNet Commission.

Jonathan Kozol: Ordinary Resurrections (grades 9-12)

Renowned educator and best-selling author Jonathan Kozol talks to educators and students October 21, 2002, on CET. The program is broadcast and streamed live, then archived online. The program is a collaborative effort of CET and The Manuel D. and Rhoda Mayerson Foundation and is funded by The KnowledgeWorks Foundation.

CET collaborated in the development of this community service kit designed for use with teens and young adults. This cross-curricular collection of instructional units provide the framework for teachers and other youth leaders to lead their students in constructive and caring ways to reach out and support those struggling with pediatric cancer. A child of any race, religion, age, or socio-economic status is vulnerable. And the disease causes untold suffering for both the patients and their families. Not everyone can find a cure for cancer, but we can all do something to make life easier for patients and families. Funded by a generous grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Ohio Math Works (grades 7-9)

Ohio Math Works is CET's interactive, multimedia project that shows students in grades 7, 8 and 9 how industry professionals use mathematics in their careers! Videos take students behind the scenes in companies and give students an opportunity to do the math-based tasks that are done by professionals on the job. Funded by a grant by Ohio Educational Telecommunications (OET).

OHIO ROCKS!

Ohio Rocks! takes your third through fifth grade students on a tour of Ohio's geology. Learn about the forces that formed and shaped our state, the geologic evidence left behind, and how humans have used the our geologic resources throughout our history. These standards-based videos and lessons will take your students on a video field trip to some of the most interesting and important geologic sites in our state. Ohio Rocks! is a CET multimedia project in partnership with, Ohio Geological Survey, and Cincinnati Museum Center and was funded by a grant from eTech Ohio.

OhioDL is a website devoted entirely to Ohio distance learning issues and resources for K-12 schools. The site provides links to Ohio videoconferencing resources, training materials to download, videostreaming of sample videoconferences and much more. This project is a collaboration of CET Learning Services and the other Educational Technology Agencies across the state.

Our Town: Lincoln Community Center (media resource)

Teenage residents of the West End call to us to get involved in making our town a better place to live. Initially a part of a civic engagement program, the video became an award-winning "Be More" spot for CET. It is the result of a cooperative project between CET and Lincoln Community Center, funded by WGBH (Boston) in connection with its Our Town outreach in support of ExxonMobil Masterpiece Theatre.

Paul Loeb: Civic Engagement (grades 9-12 & college)

Civic engagement expert Paul Loeb appears on CET to discuss social commitment with high schoolers and college students on Election Day 2003. Some classrooms also included a reading of Our Town by Thornton Wilder and viewed the ExxonMobil Masterpiece Theatre Our Town production to expand their discussion of civic engagement and the place and time in which they live. The broadcasts are a collaborative effort of CET, The Manuel D. and Rhoda Mayerson Foundation and Northern Kentucky University's Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement. They are funded by KnowledgeWorks Foundation and NKU's Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement, with additional support from WGBH.

Producing Ohio (grades 5-8)

An interactive multimedia economics curriculum for fifth and sixth grade students. These dynamic and entertaining cross-curricular lessons give students the knowledge and tools necessary to succeed on the Ohio Proficiency Tests. The project features an exciting interactive website. Reading Rainbow Young Writers & Illustrators Contest (grades K-3)

CET and Reading Rainbow is inviting youngsters from kindergarten to third grade to write and illustrate their own original story for the Fourteenth Annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers & Illustrators Contest! Entries will be judged locally in March and four stories will be entered in the National judging in June.

Ready To Learn (childcare provider & educator resource)

CET's Ready To Learn service provides free workshops for parents and daycare providers that address child development in the areas of social and emotional growth, cognitive and language development, and cultural knowledge. Paired with the great children's programming on CET, the workshops focus on the importance of actively viewing television and using that experience as a springboard to reading good children's books and doing developmentally appropriate activities. Funding is provided by the U.S. Department of Education and PBS.

Safe Passage (grades 6-9)

CET's Safe Passage features a curriculum kit and teachers guide focusing on language arts and social studies using the Underground Railroad theme. Safe Passage is made possible by a grant from the Ohio Educational Telecommunications Network Commission in support of the Ohio SchoolNet intitiative and made possible, in part, by the Ohio Humanities Council, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Bring a story to life. Singing. Pretending. Rhyming. Give your child words to grow by and get them excited about reading. PBS KIDS Share a Story is an unprecedented public service campaign to promote children's literacy through daily activities, including book reading, storytelling, drawing, acting, rhyming and singing. CET is partnering with Cincinnati Association for the Blind and St. Rita School for the Deaf to bring Share a Story to Cincinnati. Funded through a grant from PBS.

Just in time for the Ohio Bicentennial - CET's Write Now, Ohio brings Ohio authors to students in hundreds of classrooms throughout the state. Designed for students in grades four through six, Write Now, Ohio provides an interesting and creative way for students to improve their literacy skills.
