Lilias! Yoga Gets Better With Age

CET, Greater Cincinnati's PBS station, premiered LILIAS! YOGA GETS BETTER WITH AGE in March, 2006. This program highlights the career of master yoga teacher and Cincinnatian Lilias Folan and explores the impact yoga has on the mind, body and spirit.

''Lilias with her students in CET's studio for the taping of the DVDLilias has been an important part of CET programming for more than thirty years,'' said CET Director of Programming Grace Hill. ''She has gathered a strong following both locally and nationally. We know that her loyal fans as well as many first-time viewers will welcome this inspiring new program.''

The program highlights the positive effects of yoga on the lives of a number of practitioners and teachers from this area. The opening segment shares information about the ''First Lady of Yoga'' through interviews with the students and teachers whose lives Lilias has touched with her classes and her books. Also included will be a segment from the companion DVD, produced in Cincinnati at CET, to her latest book, Lilias!, Yoga Gets Better with Age.

Lilias turned to yoga in the mid 1960s to relieve the sleepless nights and back aches she had been experiencing as a new mother. In 1972, she pioneered teaching yoga on television with Lilias, Yoga & You, produced by public television station WCET, which is now CET. With her trademark long braid and warm, calm, confident demeanor, Lilias demystified this ancient practice for those who watched her program. By 1975 the program was broadcast on PBS television telstations nationwide. Lilias' audience has since grown to include housewives, athletes, artists and even a former United States President!

''I am deeply grateful that CET has been so supportive of me over the years,'' said Lilias. ''I am particularly proud to be part of the local yoga community, and so pleased to have the opportunity to promote yoga through my book and this new program.''

Lilias! Yoga Gets Better with Age - both the book and complementing television program - beautifully demonstrate that midlife yoga is the opportunity to soften the aging process, maintain health and enjoy a more vibrant life.

CET viewers can support this remarkable program -- and ensure that more programs like it will be available to them -- by becoming a CET member with their choice of ''thank you'' gifts of the LILIAS! YOGA GETS BETTER WITH AGE companion book or DVD.

Lilias Yoga: Yoga Gets Better With Age

In the great tradition of Yoga, mid-life is the perfect time to begin a yoga practice. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach to yoga. In her book and in these classes, Lilias will show you how to adapt the Postures to what feels practical and natural.
