CET Wraps Up Annual Action Auction

CINCINNATI – CET is celebrating the success of the 42nd annual Action Auction, which brought in more than $208,000 this year.

''We are pleased that we were able to raise this money for CET,'' said Marty Humes, 2009 Action Auction chair. ''We realize the economy is tough, but our viewers still bid on items to support their local public television station. Our sponsors, bidders, donors and volunteers are outstanding and we could not have made this event happen without their dedication to CET and their mission.''

Money raised during the four-day on-air event will support programming and general operations of the organization. CET is not only Cincinnati's PBS affiliate; it also maintains a ground-breaking video-on-demand website, CETconnect.org, and offers educational opportunities for teachers, students and parents in the Greater Cincinnati region.

''The Action Auction takes a lot of preparation, but it is so important to our annual fundraising efforts,'' said Jack Dominic, CET Vice President and COO. ''We are very lucky to have volunteers, donors, sponsors and bidders who believe wholeheartedly in CET and who continue to support us year after year.''
