James Russell Warthen - In His Own Words
James Russell Warthen of Licking County (Ohio) served in the Pacific Theater of War from 1942–1945. He wrote in his memoirs ''The Army and Navy were generous with transportation. We moved across the entire Pacific with stopovers in the Gilbert Islands (Makin and Tawara), the Marianas (Saipan and Guam) and Okinawa.'' Read his memories of THE WAR.

Mr. Glenn Grundei, retired teacher from Winton Woods Primary North, began creating his tribute to American Veterans in the hallways of his school about ten years ago. What has resulted is an impressive display of picture frames containing letters, newspaper clippings, photographs, uniforms, and medals of honor, mostly from WWII.
World War II - Robert Lindner, Jr.
World War II broke out just as the Lindner family was beginning its business in Norwood. Despite being needed at home, Robert Lindner, Jr. joined the fight where he was trained to be a weather observer, which, at the time, was a job that had top secret clearance. Mr. Lindner describes how these individuals aided the Allies and the role weather played in the fight, working at the Pentagon and in Europe.
Thomas Linneman - WWII POW
Thomas Linneman spent 208 days in a German POW camp during the last months of the war in Europe. He shares his experiences and discusses how his mother Marie, had to cope with her three sons serving in the war at the same time. Tom's bother John (Jack) was killed in Italy and his bother had to break the news to Tom who was recuperating from being injured in France. You can also read Tom's diary which he kept for all 208 days while imprisoned. His reflection upon his visit to Dachau is especially moving.
