Mapping Our Tears - Manuel Quezon III
Manuel Quezon III's grandfather served as the first President of the Philippines from 1935-1944. Manuel recounts when The Frieders, a Cincinnati Jewish family with a cigar factory in Manila, approached his grandfather with a request to rescue Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi Germany.
This video is part of the collection at The Center for Holocaust and Humanity Education at Hebrew Union College, which is dedicated to innovative educational programming and teacher training. In 2003, The Center launched the interactive, permanent exhibition, Mapping Our Tears, bringing to life the eyewitness testimonies of Holocaust Survivors, World War II Liberators and Rescuers.
