THE ROAD TO EQUALITY: AFRICAN AMERICAN LIVES AND LEADERS is a round table discussion has been developed from the additional footage taped in the development of the program GLORIFYING THE LION. Participating in this discussion are Theodore Berry, former city councilman and the first African American Mayor of Cincinnati; Dr. Laurence Hawkins, the first African American to be Assistant Superintendent of Cincinnati Public Schools and then Dean and later Senior Vice President of the University of Cincinnati; Virginia Coffey, former Director of the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission; and the Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth, a founder and first pastor of Cincinnati's Greater New Light Baptist Church. The moderator is Sheila Adams, former President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati.
