Voices of Giving: Patricia Duwel Nobis

Nominated: Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur (Awarded Posthumously)

Patricia Duwel Nobis spent her career as a teacher in the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur schools. Throughout her career and life, she was very appreciative of the leadership Sister Suzanne Feldhaus provided for her.

Patricia Nobis’s relationship with Sister Suzanne Feldhaus spanned more than 40 years. And each of the many gifts Patricia made to the congregation were all in memory of Sister Suzanne. When she retired, Patricia remained closely connected to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. She especially cherished visits from the Sisters during her own illness. As a teacher in the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur schools, Patricia was keenly aware of the value of the education mission of the Sisters. It was her philanthropic goal to help further that mission as much as possible.

Indeed, Patricia’s generous planned gift of life insurance, will help the congregation’s efforts to provide, in the best manner possible, for more than 80 sisters who now reside at the Notre Dame de Namur health care facility. These sisters, like Patricia herself, dedicated a lifetime to teaching and to making a meaningful and profound impact on young lives through education.

It is a great honor for the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur to honor Patricia Duwel Nobis for her generous and enduring commitment to the educational mission of the Sisters and to the welfare of those Sisters who have spent a lifetime in service of that mission.
