Voices of Giving: William and Phyllis Augspurger
Bill and Phyllis Augspurger have been actively involved with People Working Cooperatively since 1995. They have taken an unsurpassed leadership role in supporting the Annual Fund Campaign, the Oscar Night America fundraiser and the Building Fund Campaign.
Bill also currently serves on the Development Committee, serves as special advisor to the organization's President, volunteers at all major agency fundraisers and events, participates in ''friend raisers'', and keeps PWC connected through his business relationships in the tri-state area.
In 2010 People Working Cooperatively launched The Home Repair Bequest Society to ensure the future of PWC through planned gifts to its endowment. Bill and Phyllis were once again the first to step forward and provide a very generous leadership bequest.
Bill commented: ''We were concerned about how clients would be served long after we were gone.''
By supporting the newly created Bequest Society, they have encouraged others to become a part of PWC's future. Through their planned gift, they are making a lasting connection between themselves and the lives of untold hundreds, or even thousands, of low-income, elderly and disabled individuals – and are ensuring that these clients will remain in their homes for decades to come.
Bill and Phyllis Augspurger exemplify the true spirit of giving back on all levels -- time, talent and treasure. PWC is extremely proud to count them among its most honored supporters.
